Expert Tribe Increases Scholarships and Scholarships for 2nd Annual Student Entrepreneur Summit
– Lauren Kwan
Brooklyn, NY, USA, November 10, 2021 / EINPresswire.com/ – In honor of National Scholarship Month, the National Student Entrepreneurship Summit has opened applications, with a $5,000 scholarship increase from the $4,000 earlier this year for the Etel & Scholarship Sonia Cowan Student Entrepreneurial Grant. NSES will launch its annual virtual event on February 5, 2022, from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM EST.
The summit will be hosted by The Experts Tribe, an online community of expert entrepreneurs. Together with graduate entrepreneurs from Harvard University in New York City and the Office of Student Development and Leadership at Queen’s College, the collaboration focuses on helping college student entrepreneurs who want mentorship in balancing their studies and starting a business. All college students and anyone interested in entrepreneurship can join the national virtual event for free.
One of the goals of The Experts Tribe and Summit founder of the National Student Entrepreneurse, Lorene Cowan, is to create a supportive community of entrepreneurs of all ages. “My goal is to prepare the next generation of entrepreneurs with the tools they need to thrive in this competitive market through financial support, mentorship, and resources,” Cowan said. “I couldn’t think of a better way to help young entrepreneurs than creating a scholarship in the name of my parents, Etel and Sonia Cowan. My parents are immigrants from Jamaica Their main goal in life was to help me achieve all my dreams academically and professionally. I am proud to say that I achieved my goals because of them and now I want to push it forward.”
Students will have the opportunity to gain the vital tools to start and maintain a business, and will be able to listen to investors and entrepreneurs share their journeys and engage in a business battle for a chance to win a $5,000 scholarship. In addition, the winner will have the opportunity to undergo a free business mentorship program with Cowan as well as press support to promote its launch.
This year’s NSES winners, Howard University’s Josel Lloyd and Celica Blyden, agree that working with Cowan has made launching a business easier. “Lauren is always there to give advice, she helps us work through those cut-offs, and she welcomes discussions about anything we have agreed or not,” Jozel said.
“No matter what situation we’re in, she always has a game plan for us to get through and she’s always able to explain things in a way that we can understand and apply to our business,” Celesia said. “Moreover, she is very elegant and easy to talk to and work with.” Life Hacks 101 will be launched during Financial Culture Month.
The former competitor, Maximillian Kodi of Southern Connecticut State University, said attending the summit helped him develop his startup, https://investrloft.com. Cody said, “I met some great people. I also got in touch with Douglas Romanoff from Parameter Ventures who was the investor in the board. I had a couple of zoom meetings with him and he was really helpful in guiding me as I developed my startup.”
