Why should I consider confidentiality?
Coverwise has an extensive portfolio of travel insurance, with a single trip and annual insurance policy across five coverage levels (Standard, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum), to suit your needs and your pocket.
Its policies also include coverage for Covid-related emergencies such as contracting the virus abroad, or having to cancel your flight due to contracting the virus before departure.
Cover extends to include travel against the advice of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office and Development (FCDO). However, in such circumstances, the claims should not relate to Covid.
The cover covers trips in the following areas:
- Europe (including the Mediterranean, Morocco, Algeria, Tunisia, Turkey, Canary Islands, Madeira, Azores, Iceland and Egypt)
- Worldwide (except the US, Canada and the Caribbean)
- Worldwide (including the United States, Canada and the Caribbean).
Travelers can also purchase independent single-flight policies for the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales, Northern Ireland, Isle of Man and Channel Islands), Australia and New Zealand.
Coverwise has over 43,000 reviews on Trustpilot, with an overall rating of “excellent”, and policies rated five stars by Defaqto.
It tops our list of best travel insurance providers, features in best annual travel insurance and best Covid insurance lists too.

How to find the best cover for you
Price is a major consideration when comparing travel insurance policies, but you should also compare levels of coverage to get the amount of protection you need, or you may find yourself out of pocket if something goes wrong.
Covering medical emergencies, cancellations, and loss of baggage and property will be important to your insurance. According to the government’s Money Helper website, there must be at least £1 million of medical coverage covered for travel in Europe and £2 million or more for the US, and £2,000 for cancellation coverage (or whatever is required to cover the cost of your trip ) and at least £1,500 for lost or stolen baggage and possessions.
Also, be sure to add extra cover to your policy or get specialized cover if needed – for example, if you’re going on a winter sports trip, or you have pre-existing medical conditions.
Why does it make sense to compare products and service providers
It is important to have the right type of travel insurance and levels of coverage for your requirements, or you may end up paying medical fees or reimbursing lost baggage out of your own pocket.
Whether you’re buying a new policy or your annual travel insurance is due for renewal, it’s helpful to compare a range of policies, given factors like price, but also limitations and exclusions for your insurance coverage, as they vary between policies.
For example, annual travel insurance will have a maximum number of days you can travel per trip.
Also look for exceptions in the Covid-related risk cap. For example, some providers won’t pay if you need to cancel your flight due to COVID, while others will.
Most insurance companies do not cover travel against FCDO advice.
