Statement by the Former PDP House of Representatives Candidate- Ajaokuta Federal Constituency on the death of Hon. Momoh Sadiq Omonori, popularly known as “Hon Jamaica”

The Ajaokuta Federal Constituency PDP candidate for House of Representatives in the 2019 general Election, Hon. Aloysius A. Okino issued the following statement on the death of Hon. Jamaica- the former Supervising Councilor in Ajaokuta Local Government Area Council.
He said “It is with great sadness that I learned of the death of a brother and a friend.
“Hon. Jamaica was, above all, a man of peace and a man dedicated to the well-being of the good people of Ajaokuta.
“Over the course of his long and distinguished life, Hon. Jamaica made enormous contributions to the building and development of the Local Government. He was devoted to promoting understanding between his people and the environment.
He further said that Hon. Jamaica as he was popularly called, was a well respected statesman and a great friend to Ajaokuta and has helped build relations that remain strong till this day. He is an emblematic figure of peace building.
A tireless worker for the security, an indefatigable servant of peace, promoter of tolerance and of bridging divisions. His commitment towards a comprehensive peace in the state has set a historic standard for the leaders of the region and of the entire Local government area.
His passing leaves us with a sad void, but his formidable legacy of hope shall stay on to guide us towards peace and mutual coexistence.
In his final words, he said, “On behalf of all the good people of Ajaokuta and my political associates, we offer our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the deceased and to the people of Ajaokuta. His legacy as a tireless advocate for peace will not be forgotten.”
Speaking through the Leader of the group, “Aloysious’ Media team” comrade Siyaka Liyasu Akinlade, he said “On this sad day, not only for his family but also for humanity, I join my voice in expressing the deepest condolences of the Government and the people of Ajaokuta Local Government.
May he rest in peace, as we make it our duty to keep his memory alive.”
