Lokoja Tragedy: Natasha Akpoti Sympathizes with Victims, Calls for Proactive Measures


Kogi-born Social Entrepreneur, Barr. Natasha Hadiza Akpoti has expressed sympathy for the victims of tanker explosion which claimed scores of lives along Felele area of Lokoja, Kogi State capital.

Early hours of Wednesday September 23 witnessed a fatal incidence in Felele when a fuel tanker was said to have dodged road potholes and somersaulted over other vehicles and got exploded. The incidence which got scores of persons burnt beyond recognition.

Reacting to the tragedy via the press, Akpoti sent her condolences to the families of the victims while urging the government to intensify proactive measures to prevent reoccurrence and as well put in place a prompt response fire service facilities in strategic places.

“My heart goes out to the victims of the tanker explosion mostly who are said to be students. It is really tragic and sad. I urge the government to be proactive in road use and disaster management.” Akpoti said.
