Prince Alhaji Mathew M. Opaluwa Oguche the new Atta of Igala kingdom was born to the Royal family of late Chief Opaluwa Oguche Akpa and late Mama Eke Opaluwa Edicha of the Aju-Ameacho Ruling Dynasty of Igala kingdom.

Education
In 1975 Prince Alhaji Mathew M. Opaluwa Oguche started his early education at St. Boniface’s primary school Idah, Kogi State where he obtained his first school leaving certificate and then proceeded in the same year to St.Peter’s college Idah,Kogi State for his West African Schools Certificate (WASC) in 1980 however, he was advised by his father in 1981 to seek for admission into the School of Basic Studies,Ugbokolo where he obtained ‘’A” Level papers in 1983.
In the same year, he gained admission into the prestigious Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria and graduated in 1986 with Bachelors of Science (B.sc) degree in Business Administration and served his one year compulsory National youths service (NYSC) in Niger State in 1987.
After a successful service, Prince Alhaji Mathew M. Opaluwa Oguche went back to the same Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria where he obtained his Masters(MBA) degree in Business Administration in the year 1997.
Career
He started his working experience with Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) in 1988 as an Administrative Officer which he rose to the ranks of Deputy Director and he served in many Local Government areas of Kogi State as electoral officer which include Idah, Ofu, Ankpa, Bassa, Ibaji Mopa/Amuro and Okene respectively.
Prince Alhaji Mathew M. Opaluwa Oguche was transferred to Kaduna State INEC Headquarters in charge of transportation unit, still in the north,he was then later transferred to katsina State INEC Headquarters in july,2009 in charge of research and documentations unit while he was there he served as electoral officer to Danja and Dutsinma local government areas of Katsina State till 2015 general elections.
Prince Alhaji Mathew M. Opaluwa Oguche is a humane, generous and gentle easy going personality of impeccable character and a bridge builder who derives pleasure in creating peace and harmony among the Igala people and associates, his passion for the Igala traditions, cultural values and unity among Igala people and others cannot be over emphasized, engenders his willingness to always help the Igala sons and daughters and mankind generally. He is happily married and blessed with children.
